Abstract

Background: YAP1 regulates EMT and cell proliferation. Results: Deletion of YAP1 in endocardial cells reduces EMT of endocardial cells, and causes cardiac cushion defect. Conclusion: YAP1 is required for cardiac cushion development. Significance: This is the first in vivo genetic evidence for YAP1 function in EMT.
