Abstract
Immediately following transluminal angioplasty, small vessels rapidly draining into an adjacent vein were shown to be in close proximity following dilatation of stenotic segments of the superficial femoral artery. The authors suggest that these vessels most likely represent hypertrophied vasa vasorum associated with atherosclerosis.
