Abstract
Detrusor instability is responsible for a syndrome which includes a variety of sensory symptoms of the lower urinary tract and urinary incontinence. Its diagnosis is established by cystometry, and its cause is unknown in most cases. Decreased cortical control over sacral reflexes seems to be the common symptom in such cases. Bladder retraining drills have produced satisfactory improvement in most cases.
