Abstract

This conceptual analysis explores the Haitian cultural experience in the U.S. and offers a model for working with Haitian families. Relevant factors include: (I) an understanding of the history and culture of Haiti; (2) migration patterns of Haitian families to the U.S.; and (3) the experience which most Haitian families must endure upon arrival.
