Abstract
Timolol maleate is an effective agent for reducing intraocular pressure in patients with chronic open-angle glaucoma. To date, there are no adverse side effects demonstrable with use of this medication. Its mechanism of action is not clearly delineated but preliminary data suggest an effect on outflow facility.
