Abstract
The anatomy, physiology and function of the aging thyroid gland are presented. Hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid neoplasia, and thyroiditis in the elderly are discussed with specific reference to differences between clinical presentation and therapeutic approaches in older versus younger patients.
