Abstract

Thyroid cancer is an increasingly common neoplasm in the USA. Most cancers of the thyroid can be treated using some combination of surgery, radioactive iodine, and targeted medications. Nonetheless, some subtypes of thyroid cancers can be very aggressive, and referral for expert multidisciplinary evaluation should be strongly considered if a diagnosis is suspected.
