Thymectomy in the adult rat

Abstract

A procedure for thymic ablation is described in detail. Complete thymus removal is obtained by blunt dissection alone and without resort to the common procedure of tracheostomy and aspiration with suction tube. A high survival rate depends on adhering carefully to the described procedure.
