Abstract

A 27 year old woman developed syncope following cesarean delivery. Helical chest computed tomography (CT) demonstrated massive pulmonary embolism occluding the main pulmonary artery and extending through 90% of the pulmonary vessels. Thombolysis with tissue plasminogen activator was life-saving.
