Abstract
The placement of a silicone columellar strut serves to correct columellar retraction, to improve the nasolabial angle, and to increase tip projection by elevating the medical crura of the lower lateral cartilages. The potential complications of extrusion, infection, and migration are minimal if the implant is placed in a separate watertight compartment with a tension-free closure and no impingement on the nasal dome.
