Abstract

The many radiological features associated with myotonic dystrophy have been described with some emphasis placed on a possible new finding of diffuse narrowing of the sigmoid colon. Although most major changes in this disease are caused by a generalized muscular atrophy, an explanation to account for the sigmoid narrowing cannot be fully established at this time. The radiologist should be aware of all the existing features in this disease in order to avoid implicating other disorders to account for the findings.
