Abstract
Collective employee activity has changed many policies previously the sacrosanct territory of hospital administration, and it has had a dramatic effect on the attitudes of those who work in hospitals. The repercussions of employee collective activity has been felt on the hospital boardroom, the budget process, third-party payers, managerial control, other employee groups, and the community.
