Abstract
The principle and design of a laser television are introduced. The light source of the system is composed of all-solid-state red, green and blue lasers with watt-level output. The ratio of power for the three lasers is calculated. The laser beam is scanned simultaneously by rotating polygonal mirrors for horizontal lines and a vibrating mirror for vertical lines. Synchronous scanning is successful realized by image storage and detection for the position of polygonal mirrors, namely, the position of polygonal mirrors determines the read of storage signal and the behaviors of intensity modulators and vibrating mirror. This scanning control scheme lowers the manufacturing requirements for the optical scanning system. Moreover, the adverse influences of polygonal angular division error and the fluctuation of the rotation speed are avoided. The scan area of our laser television is 5 m2. High-brightness and high-sharpness images are displayed.
