abstract = "The purpose of the article is to substantiate the “digital potential of the university”, as well as the principal methodology for its assessment. The authors understand this term as the ability of the university to use advanced digital technologies in the production and transfer of new knowledge, as well as to make educational and scientific achievements in the digital economy and artificial intelligence. The author{\textquoteright}s methodology for investigating this phenomenon lies in the system-dynamic approach to the consistent description of internal and external factors of developing the university{\textquoteright}s digital potential, forms of unlocking it and predicting fundamental prospects of further development. The key finding of the article is the author{\textquoteright}s presentation of the structure of the modern university{\textquoteright}s digital potential, as well as the principal method of its assessment. This technique can be used in the monitoring of university performance conducted by the Ministry of Science of Russia, as well as in independent assessment operations by civil society institutions.",
