Abstract
(Cell 150, 764–779; August 17, 2012) We, the authors, recently became aware of errors in the originally published version of this article. First, during the preparation of the representative mouse image for Figure 4C (Control, 3 weeks), we inadvertently made an error due to the similarity among the control mice. Specifically, during the process of image cropping, copying, and insertion, we mistakenly used the representative image from Figure 1G (Vector, 5 weeks). Instead, we should have used the correct representative image for Figure 4C (Control, 3 weeks). Second, during the preparation of the representative mouse image for Figure S5F (sh-Coco #4, 4 wks), we mistakenly included the representative image from Figure S5F (sh-Coco #4, 2 wks) during image cropping, copying, and insertion. Instead, we should have included the correct representative image for Figure S5F (sh-Coco #4, 4 wks). In addition, during manuscript revision and streamlining, the explanatory notes in the legends of Figures 1F, S1J, and S6E were inadvertently removed. The legend of Figure 1F should include the following note: “Please note that Figure 1F shows the results from experiments in which a large number of tumor cells were injected (105 cells), whereas Figure 3H includes results from both small (103 cells) and large (104 and 105 cells) inocula.” The legend of Figure S1J should include the following note: “Please note that Figure S1J presents both the immunofluorescence staining and western blot results for baseline β-catenin levels in 4TO7 and 4TO7-Coco cells without Wnt-3A stimulation (0 ng/ml). By contrast, Figure S2I shows the immunofluorescence staining results of β-catenin in 4TO7 and 4TO7-Coco cells under Wnt-3A stimulation at different concentrations (0, 3, and 10 ng/ml).” The legend of Figure S6E should include the following note: “Please note that Figures S6E and S6F, as well as Figures 6F–6H in the main text, were generated using a mouse mammary tumor lung metastasis model to validate the functional roles of two genes (NDRG1 and KIAA1199) identified through bioinformatic analysis as components of the Coco two-gene signature. In this experimental design, only a single control group was included. Consequently, the representative mouse images shown in Figures S6E, S6F, and 6H (10-week control group) are derived from the same control mouse. Similarly, the control curves presented in the line graphs of Figures 6F–6H originate from this same control group.” This Correction has been approved by the authors Hua Gao, Goutam Chakraborty, Qianxing Mo, Alin Vonica, Edi Brogi, and Ali H. Brivanlou. Author Ronglai Shen was contacted but did not respond. Co-authors Ai Ping Lee-Lim and Markus Decker could not be reached to approve this Correction. Co-author Filippo G. Giancotti passed away in 2023. These errors do not affect the results, interpretation, or conclusions of the article. The correct figure panels are included below. We apologize for any confusion these errors may have caused.
