Abstract

Based on the former research tests, physical examination is carried out in this research. By the simulation research on flow field and temperature field under different conditions, the rules of dilution ratio of deep water discharge between heated drainage and water environment are obtained. The test results of the three dimensional flow condition and temperature field of deep water discharge can be used as scientific basis for planning of the similar outfall of power plant. The maximum penetration, velocity and density (or temperature) at the section are analyzed and the useful dilution formula is derived in this research. A method to estimate the dilution ratio along the axes of the jet flow is presented, it is consistent with the data obtained from physical model test.
