Abstract
The role of tendon transfers for use in shoulders with irreparable rotator cuff tears has continued to expand over the last few years as the biomechanics of the shoulder and the associated repairs has improved. The authors describe their indications and technique for the two most common transfers: subcoracoid split pectoralis major transfer for irreparable subscapularis tears, and Latissimus Dorsi transfer for irreparable posterior cuff tears.
