Abstract
A super water-absorbent resin was synthesized from reclaimed pulp cellulose and acrylic acid by graft copolymerization under microwave irradiation in heterogeneous phases and using ceric ammonium nitrate and potassium persulfate as initiators. The optimal synthesis conditions were as following: first initiating for 5 min by 0.06 ml ceric ammonium nitrate and 0.12 ml potassium persulfate as initiators, then reacting for 16h under 75°C with 75% of monomer neutralization degree and 21:2 of proportion of monomer volume to dry pulp weight. The resin prepared has a super water absorption capacity of 1 060 g/g for deionized water or 108 g/g for 0.9% NaCl saline water.
