Abstract
One-dimensional BaSiF6:Yb3+(20%)/Tm3+(1.2%) nanorods were synthesized by a facile microemulsion method for the first time. X-ray topographic analysis found that the nanorods have a pure rhombohedral structure. Under 980 nm excitation, bright-blue upconversion luminescence was presented in the nanorods, indicating that BaSiF6 is a new host material for producing desirable upconversion luminescence.
