Abstract
Non-neoplastic laryngeal lesions include nodules, polyps, polypoid corditis, and submucosal cysts. They develop within the superficial portion of the lamina propria as a response to injury. The most likely source of this injury is phonotrauma from vocal misuse or abuse. Successful surgical management relies on eliminating the source of injury, obtaining adequate surgical exposure, and excising the lesion while preserving or restoring the normal surrounding structures of the lamina propria.
