Abstract
Two women with the superior vena cava syndrome caused by biopsy‐proven metastatic breast carcinoma are reported in spite of the high incidence of breast carcinoma and the high incidence of metastasis to mediastinal lymph nodes, a review of the literature yields only 3 similar cases the superior vena cava syndrome, formerly chiefly caused by inflammatory lesions, is now much more often associated with malignant tumors.
