Abstract

A novel flexible carbon composite film is fabricated on polyimide substrate using nano carbon particles as the conductive matrix, PbO and SiO 2 as the insulative matrix. The metal electrode, lead and encapsulation are attached by adopting MEMS to achieve a force sensor cell. The experiment illustrates that the resistance property of the flexible carbon composite film experience prominent changes with the normal stress, showing a linear piezoresistance relation and high stability of the temperature. It is also free from the limitation of the surface shape of the tested objects so that can be widely applied to various squeeze stress measurement on many regular and unregular curve surfaces.
