Abstract
This paper discussed the complexity of Softswitch because of its multi-protocol property. How to deal with the protocol relationships in each protocol group or between different protocol groups was studied. Generic PDU was designed. The extensibility and availability of Softswitch were also under consideration. Based on a mechanism of SIP-T, the information translation mode and information encapsulation mode coexisted widely in the generic PDU, by which the high efficiency of system and integrality of information were ensured. The necessity and validity of protocol relationship and protocol grouping were proved. UML was used to design the Softswitch.
