Abstract

Restraint stress produced ventricular arrhythmias in seven guinea pigs monitored by a Holter ECG recorder. Couples and ventricular tachycardia, never seen in unrestrained guinea pigs, were noted in three. The arrhythmias were associated with high heart rates which showed no tendency to decrease during the restraint period.
