Abstract

A case is presented of spontaneous massive vitreous hemorrhage in a patient with aniridia, corneal pannus, cataract, pendular nystagmus and congenital glaucoma, and who had previously had trabeculectomy surgery. The surgical management of this patient included pars plana lensectomy and vitrectomy and is the first reported case of such surgery in an aniridic eye. The mechanism of the spontaneous hemorrhage and the surgical care of this patient are discussed.
