Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the CT features and differential diagnosis of papillary renal cell carcinoma (PRCC). Methods: Twenty patients of PRCC and 102 patients of renal clear cell carcinoma underwent CT scan, and the CT features of two diseases were compared. Results: PRCC showed hypodense compared with renal cortex on the corticomedullary phase, while 95 of 102 renal clear cell carcinomas showed hyperdense or similar dense compared with renal cortex on the corticomedullary phase. Conclusion: There is some special features of CT enhancement of PRCC, which makes it being able to be differentiated from renal clear cell carcinoma.
