Abstract
Other sessions at the conference covered the choice of anesthesia for aorto-iliac surgery, evaluation of patients for pneumonectomy, and noncardiac surgery in patients with unrepaired congenital heart disease. The Janssen Annual Lecture on "adverse hemodynamic responses to protamine" was given by E. Lowenstein of Harvard Medical School, Boston. The meeting concluded with two interesting case presentations that highlighted ETEG monitoring and transesophagcal echocardiography. Forty-eight abstracts were presented orally and fifty abstracts were displayed as posters, providing an oversight of current research in the field of cardiovascular anesthesia.
