Abstract

In specific forensic cases, a genetic marker set allowing to deduce information about phenotypic features of the individual in question may be helpful to investigators. Candidates for such markers include pigmentation genes relevant for eye, hair and skin colour. The project presented here aims at the development of a marker set which may be able to derive phenotypic information regarding the pigmentation pattern of an individual from DNA.
