Abstract

The distribution and characteristics of thermoresponsive neurons, both peripherally and centrally, are discussed. The thermoregulatory responses evoked by stimulation of these receptors have also been extensively studied. The link between these two sets of data, i.e., the correlation of receptor firing and regulatory output, remains to be analyzed.
