Abstract

The use of the robotic technology in the repair of inguinal hernia has grown significantly over the last few years. The robotic method in nearly all cases requires the transabdominal preperitoneal approach (rTAPP). This chapter provides a very detailed description of the rTAPP. The various modifications that have been noted are discussed. Postoperative expectations and outcomes are also reviewed. The reader should understand this rTAPP approach to inguinal hernia repair.
