Abstract
Median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS) is typically treated surgically, with open, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches all currently being used. The initial standard of care was traditional laparotomy with median arcuate ligament release until the first laparoscopic approach was described in 2000. Over time, advancements and practice in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) have allowed its utility in treating MALS to now be superior to that of open surgery. The MIS robotic approach offers several advantages that will be discussed in this chapter.
