Abstract

The adoption and use of the robotic approach for radical nephrectomy of renal tumors has grown exponentially in the last decade. Although there is no clear benefit with regards to its oncological or perioperative outcomes when compared to the open or laparoscopic approach, the adoption of the robotic system has been expanded to include large complex tumors, metastatic tumors, regional hilar/retroperitoneal lymph nodes, and the presence of tumor thrombus. Wherein, it may be beneficial.
