Abstract

Since its introduction in the 1940s, percutaneous nephroscopy has now become the gold standard for treatment of complex staghorn renal calculi. Advances in rigid and flexible scopes have enabled urologists to treat upper tract renal disease in a safe and efficient manner. This chapter will discuss recent advances in instruments for nephroscopy and techniques that can maximize efficiency and minimize morbidity.
