Abstract
A new type of packed slab waveguide CO2 laser was demonstrated, with which over I kilowatt power output was obtained from a device having only 500mm electrode length. The water cooled electrodes were made of Al alloy LY12. The working gas was a mixed gas of CO2:N2: He:Xe=1:1:3:0.05 with pressure of 1*104Pa, the input power of RF source was 900w with output frequency of 93.15MHz from a frequency modulator. This technique is possible to obtain compact CO2 laser with multikilowatts power output.
