Abstract

Since wheat gluten has been implicated as a major etiologic agent in celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis and since association with HLA antigens has been established for these diseases. The authors decided to study the responses of HLA-typed healthy persons to wheat gluten using in vitro lymphocyte transformation as a parameter of secondary response.
