Research of land-use planning MIS based on workflow modeling

Abstract

Workflow management can satisfy the need of land-use MIS (management information system). It can provide automated management processes, coordinate the performance of both users and instruments, and transmit right information to the right person at the right time. According to the synthesis of diversiform model and the analysis of land-use planning management business, the definitions of workflow model of land-use planning MIS were proposed. They include four consanguineous and close-related views: process models, function models, information models and organization models. Descriptions of the four models were also put forward. Especially, in the expression of process models graphic notations for GIS activities were provided based on directed graph technology.
