Abstract
Here, we disclosed a new relationship between the Anderson-Grüneisen parameter and thermal expansivity. Such relationship is applicable along an adiabat as well as along an isotherm, especially for insulators. An expression for volume dependence of thermal expansivity is also derived and verified along an isotherm. The presented relationship follows the constraints made by high pressure thermodynamics.
