Abstract

An earlier clinical observation that renal medullary cystic disease is frequently associated with red and blonde hair has been confirmed. The concomitance of these findings in eight patients in four new kindreds is presented. These observations relating hair color to medullary cystic disease of the kidney will be helpful in suggesting this diagnosis at the bedside in patients with compatible clinical findings.
