Abstract
The refinements of radical prostatectomy are reviewed and the development of minimally invasive techniques is charted. A step-by-step guide to contemporary robotic assisted radical prostatectomy is given with emphasis on safety and maximizing oncological outcomes while at the same time reducing the chances of the common complications associated with continence and potency.
