Abstract

Radiation therapy has played an important role in the management of benign and malignant orbital tumors. These include sinus, intraocular and adnexal tumors, those with orbital extension and orbital inflammatory processes. While external beam radiation therapy is the gold standard in treatment of orbital tumors, new techniques such as brachytherapy boost appear to increase local control and decrease secondary radiation complications. This chapter details the common modalities of radiation utilized in treatment of orbital tumors.
