QCW-LD side-pumped Nd:YAG double mode pulse laser

A double mode pulse laser which outputs the long pulse and short pulse alternately was reported. The double mode pulse laser was side-pumped by 5 QCW laser diodes with 100 W peak power. The properties of double mode are realized by using LiNbO3 E-O Q switched device, which was triggered by QCW-LD power supply. When the pumping energy is 239 mJ with the repetition rate of 40 Hz and the pumping pulse width of 500 μS, the long pulse of maximum 33.5 mJ energy and short pulse of maximum 18.3 mJ energy were obtained alternately with the pulse width of 480 μS and 10 ns individually. The long and short pulse laser optic-optic conversion efficiency of the long and short pulse laser is 14% and 7.7% respectively.
