Abstract

A kind of material of the bipolar plate was fabricated by the hot-pressure molding using epoxy (EP) resin powders and graphite powders as raw materials. The factors including the EP resin content, the molding temperature and the holding time which affects the conductivity and bending strength of the composite were investigated. The results indicate that the bending strength increases at first and then decreases and conductivity decreases with the increasing of EP resin content, the bending strength increased and conductivity would increase firstly and then decreased with the increasing of molding temperature, the bending strength and conductivity both increased firstly and then decreased with the increasing of holding time. The flexural strength was 53.11 MPa and conductivity was 209.25 S/cm of the EP/G composite, as EP resin content of 10 wt%, molding temperature of 275°C and holding time of 100 min.
