Abstract

Preventive labor relations is the science of providing an atmosphere in the institution that recognizes the dignity of employees and rewards them in relation to their efforts toward the final goal of the institution, providing sound care. An institution without unions that provides all the protections afforded employees in a unionized institution will rarely be organized. Preventive labor relations, to be successful, must focus on the first line of defense for the institution, supervisors and department heads; and therein lies the major pitfall of most preventive labor relations programs.
