Abstract

Energy efficiency is a key problem in wireless mesh network. In this paper, we propose an energy efficient data exchanging algorithm in wireless mesh networks. From the perspective of the energy consumption needed by exchanging data in the node, we first investigate the state and size of the data being cached, and then select candidate data to exchange considering its energy consumption, to reduce the amount of data exchanging. The analytical and experimental results demonstrate that our algorithm can save the energy cost of data exchanging efficiently with guarantee of hit ratio, thus extend the life of the network.
