note = "Funding Information: It would thus appear, in these preliminary experiments, that cerebral glucose hypometabolism is an initial event in the migrainous headache induced by reserpine in susceptible subjects. The observed decline in RCMRGlu amounts to a considerable impairment in cerebral metabolism and would be consistent with the model of deranged cerebral function proposed by Pearce, Edmeads,l and others2 as the primary event in the genesis of the migraine attack. This research was carried out under contract DE-AC02-76CH00016 with the US Department of Energy and supported by its Office of Health and Environmental Research, and also suooorted bv National Institutes of Health",
