Abstract

Spin polarization [Formula Presented] has been observed for [Formula Presented] fragments produced in the reaction [Formula Presented] at 500 MeV/nucleon. The polarization was measured as a function of fragment longitudinal momentum (Goldhaber distribution). The experimental results are well described by a new Monte Carlo–based model. The [Formula Presented]-decay half-life of [Formula Presented] was remeasured as [Formula Presented] ms. Using polarized [Formula Presented] fragments, the [Formula Presented] factor [Formula Presented] was measured. The magnetic moments of isospin [Formula Presented] mirror pairs are discussed.
