Abstract

After describing a case of pneumo pericardium occurring after treatment for left postero lateral diaphragmatic hernia resulting in death, the authors consider the cases published in the literature. They conclude that this is a complication which should be known on account of resuscitation for acute respiratory failure, the prognosis of which is gloomy. Diagnosis, the circumstances in which it occurs, pathogeny and treatment are all considered.
