Pharmacological Treatment Options for Nonexudative and Exudative Age Related Macular Degeneration

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of vision loss in the developed world. Any patient who exhibits signs and symptoms consistent with exudative AMD undergoes a thorough dilated fundus exam, stereo color fundus photography, and rapid sequence fluorescein angiography (RSFA). The treatment options for ARM and nonexudative AMD are limited; therefore, prevention of disease progression is viewed as critical.
