Abstract

In this clinical situation, skin grafting was required for excessive pericraniofacial implant soft tissues. A graft obtained from the peri-implant site was selected over a distant split thickness skin graft. Morbidity was minimal and localized. In the situation used to illustrate this procedure, morbidity was associated with perigraft mild inflammation, which did not compromise the final outcome. The resultant skin color match, quality, and configuration were excellent, and there was 100% graft take.
