Abstract

Sexual and reproductive health is one of the most neglected aspects of health for patients with CHD. The role of the primary care clinician is to advocate for appropriate counseling on sexual and reproductive health and identify when patients need to be referred to sub specialists. This chapter provides an overview for primary care clinicians of education and management of puberty, contraceptive counseling, pregnancy and delivery, genetic counseling, functional limitations that impact sexual activity, management of perimenopausal symptoms, and gender-affirming therapies for transgender and gender nonbinary patients with CHD.
